What if I never hired my first coach?

Someone asked me this recently and it honestly was something I hadn't considered before.

I thought about who I was up to that point, what I was hoping for, and all the other things I had tried before.

Up to that point, I had been working my ass off for what I thought was my dream job. But once I got there, I still wasn't satisfied and I wasn't enjoying myself anymore.

I wanted to be responsible for more. I wanted to make a bigger impact. And I wanted to be in love with my day-to-day life.

I tried attending workshops, taking online classes, and experimenting with side hustles. All hoping to scratch this itch I had that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

The thing that I couldn't put my finger on - I wanted fulfillment.

Now I know this idea of fulfillment is that feeling of knowing, having, and acting on your purpose. Something that makes you feel like you're leaving your mark on the world, doing something you're passionate about and care about.

It doesn't have to be your job necessarily, just whatever it is that lights you up and gives you a sense of purpose. It could be writing a book, hosting a podcast, launching a side hustle, being a parent.

Back to the question - what would I have done if I didn't hire my first coach?

I likely would still be in that same job, doing a good job, being a good girl, and still feeling restless. I likely would have taken more workshops, taken on more responsibility at my job, and maybe done another side hustle passion project. But I would still be yearning for more.

If I didn't hire my first coach, dozens of people that I have since helped through my coaching business would also likely still be stuck in their heads, in their jobs, or their projects, too. The ripple effect never would have started.

Once I hired my first coach, I never looked back.

I stopped playing the 'what if' game with my past and started playing only with my future. Instead of coming from a place of guilt and regret, I learned to come from curiosity and love.

Coaching allowed me to take the time to talk through what really lights me up inside. What are my real wants and needs as an individual.

I stopped living my life based on what I thought I should do based on my labels of employee, daughter, girlfriend, sister, aunt, and instead started living based on what is aligned with who I am, what I want, and what I'm designing for my future.

This allowed me to see more possibilities for myself than I had before. I started to see opportunities for speaking up for what I want at work and in my relationships. I took on a new passion project just for me (fauxligraphy). And I began to entertain the idea of starting my own business.

That last one scared the hell out of me just to say out loud. And that was just two years ago.

If you're feeling that restless itch, and you don't know what to do next, let's chat. I'd love to support you through this exciting time. And make changes faster than you would if we didn't chat. Oh, hello velocity!
