How did Brittany get into coaching?
It all started in 2019 when I had my quarter-life crisis. I was checking all the boxes in my career: getting promoted, working remotely, getting paid well, and actually in a role that I went to school for.
But I felt like something was still missing. I didn't want my boss' job, or my boss' boss' job, and I didn't know what was missing.
So I hired my first coach. I had hardly heard of a 'life coach' at the time and it was really scary to put myself out there and ask for help. But it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
It was a truly life-changing experience. I learned so much about myself from my personal strengths, habits and tendencies that were holding me back, and how I truly wanted to show up in the world.
Within 8 months of hiring her, I had a new job that was more fulfilling and a higher pay, new hobbies I was actively pursuing, a growing savings account dedicated to traveling the world, and deeper relationships with people in my life.
I finally felt confident in who I was at my core and was no longer trying to fit in some box that society had made up for me. I was asking for what I wanted, going after things I was passionate about, and re-energized about my career and life.
I knew then that if I could help just one person the way my coach helped me, it would be more fulfilling than anything I could do in corporate America in the next 30 years.
So I signed up for one of the most intensive coach training programs with the intention of learning as much as I could and helping people on the side of my day job.
Then, it quickly snowballed from there. The more I coached, the more I wanted to coach. So I left my day job in October 2020 to pursue my business Hello Velocity full time and haven't looked back.
