What happens when you wait until you ‘have time’
Let’s talk about some hard truths - waiting until you have time means you stay waiting forever.
I see this a lot in the personal development space.
You have big goals and dreams for where you want to be in the future but you’re too ‘crazy busy’ right now to take the time to learn, change and grow.
So what happens from here?
By choosing to focus solely on your present self (putting out work fires, reacting to current circumstances, just focusing on one day at a time) you’ll stay in your current rut and you’re essentially telling the universe this is what you want more of.
“What you choose to focus on becomes your reality” - Jen Sincero
If you are choosing to prioritize being busy vs making time to implement new habits…
You’ll stay on the hamster wheel
You’ll continue to choose instant gratification
You’ll delay your future goals
And you will continue to feel disappointed that nothing has really changed in the past year.
Now maybe it’s because I recently watched the new Matrix movie, but it really feels like you have two choices:
You keep going about your day-to-day life. You’re marginally happy (some days). Life is predictable, safe even. You complain to your friends about your work/boss/life. You prioritize your present self (instant gratification) and past self (wondering what if). You continue to yearn for more.
You invest in yourself to do things differently. You learn how to prioritize your values and begin confidently making small and large decisions. You’re excited to take little steps every day to meet that future version of yourself. You do hard things now to prioritize your future and future self. You feel in alignment with who you want to be.
If you’re ready to do things differently, I’ve got you. Schedule a 30-min discovery call to see if coaching is the right fit for you.
